If you are in a production schedule and create an element, it WILL NOT be available for other schedules unless you complete additional steps.
By creating an element within a production schedule, a user is only creating the element for that particular schedule. This is useful if there is a one-time element, such as a special guest announcement, that needs to be inserted.
If you create an element within a production schedule and want to use it for future schedules, you'll need to:
1) Create the element.
2) Hit the green save button.
3) Find the element in the schedule and open it.
4) Click the red SAVE TO ELEMENTS button. A small black dialog box will appear from the button showing you saved it and then it will disappear. Finally, click the close button. This will NOT close the dialog box,
